WHO AM I AND WHY AM I QUALIFIED TO BUILD A PERSONAL BRAND?

When I was young I wanted to become a doctor to invent the cure for my grandfather’s diabetes. This wish lasted until the XIth grade when a little frog ended it. It was a not an ordinary frog, it was a frog alive, on which I was supposed to dissect.

It was a shift towards something else different than being an Olympic student at Biology and Romania, namely economy. But the Chemistry – Biology profile meant to catch up with the tens of classes my mates from other specialisations were improving themselves, therefore, to my madness, emotionally and financially supported by my parents, I covered on fast forward the amount of knowledge necessary to take an exam at The Faculty of Economic Studies.

As I enjoy being performant in every field and as management sounded well, I graduated on top of the class and gloriously looked for a job. …. As a manager. Shortly, my standard decreased, I realized that there was nothing that recommended me for a managerial position except for my ability of learning. Therefore, I was hired by a small company that was selling computers.

My fulminating career of designing offers – that was the meaning of marketing ages ago   – ended because of one ron. It was an extra ron, which was wrong in the offer sent to an entrepreneur, my manager’s friend, a ron that led to my resignation as a consequence of his fury access.

I stayed at home for a few months with no great perspectives. If I reflect upon them a while, I realise they were the calmest months of my whole life, a kind of  ”Dolce far niente”.

Then I found out that there was a position of laboratory assistant at the University and, although I was suitable for to attend the exam, I hesitated because it was not my dream to speak in front of hundreds of people. Not at all. On the contrary. But a rational analysis of the advantages and the disadvantages made me enroll in to the competition, attend the exam and become a teacher. I hardly pass over the suffocating emotions of the first year, associated with the high demands from my students.

Then, 7 years of teaching career and research followed, joys, expertise. At a certain point I felt my internal clock and I became a mother. Twice.

A year after the second child, being under maternity leave I felt I should do something different besides teaching. Ioana Balaban was the one that trusted me and who was close to me in delivering storytelling and crafts workshops for children in the biggest bookshop in Brașov for one year.

THEN I STARTED THE BUSINESS MOM CLUB MEETINGS, WHICH AT FIRST WERE CALLED “IMPRESSIVE MOTHERS”. AT SOME POINT I RECEIVED A SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL AND THIS IS HOW HAPPY MOMS WAS FOUNDED.

For two years I managed everything that was related to strategy and operational and implementation management, I designed posters and dealt with communication, from branding to confirmations and payments, from promotion to fundraising.

My disease made me accept support and therefore, together with teams of women determined and willing to do good deeds, today we are operating in Brașov, Bucharest, Sibiu, Cluj, Făgăraș and Alba-Iulia.

Three years later, I realised that the effects of my actions created what is called today the brand Happy Moms – communities of entrepreneurs of passion which support each other and support the financial education of children and the entrepreneurial education of young people.

Thus, eager for structure, after a master degree and a Ph.D. degree I returned to school and graduated the Master – Managing the Image Campaigns.

The nomination for Global Woman Awards Romania prize – Inspirational section – was both a surprise and an honour, and  winning of the prize meant a recognition for my whole activity.

The studies, my personal experience and especially my passion for what I am doing and for seeing the women around me gaining success motivated me to set out on this journey close to you towards a memorable personal branding and a winner’s attitude.
